These terms govern your use of this website and any transaction you enter into with Motor Body Services (Salford) Limited. Please read them before using the site or buying/selling a vehicle with us.
This website is operated by Motor Body Services (Salford) Limited, Company No. 00886732, VAT No. GB 146489337, registered at 23 Cottenham Lane, Salford, Manchester M7 1TH (referred to in these terms as "we", "us", "our" or "MBS"). References to "you" and "your" mean the person using this website or entering a transaction with us.
You may browse this website freely. You confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to access areas not made available, disrupt its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the site without notice, including when required for maintenance or for legal reasons.
All auction sales are conducted through IAA (Insurance Auto Auctions UK). Bidding, payment, invoicing and collection are governed by IAA's own terms and conditions, which apply in addition to these terms.
You are responsible for inspecting any vehicle before bidding, whether by viewing in person at our yard (by appointment), reviewing the photographs and descriptions published on the IAA listing, or both. Vehicles are sold as seen.
The insurance category of each item (Cat S, N, D, X or Uncategorised) is disclosed in the listing. We do not guarantee roadworthiness, condition, repair cost, or future resale value. Auction purchases are binding and distance-selling regulations do not apply.
The £99 listing fee is non-refundable once paid, whether or not your vehicle sells.
We propose a reserve price based on your vehicle's real market value. The seller agrees the reserve before the vehicle is listed. The reserve may be lowered mid-auction at the seller's request if the item is not attracting bids.
If your vehicle does not sell within the four-week auction window, you may either collect it from our yard or pay a further £99 for another four-week listing.
When your vehicle sells, you receive the hammer price*. IAA's buyer's premium is paid by the buyer and is separate.
Used parts are listed for sale through our eBay shop. Those transactions are governed by eBay's own terms and conditions and the specific terms of each individual listing, including returns policy. Parts enquiries made directly to us by phone or email are handled case by case, with terms agreed at the point of sale.
Commercial terms for fleet and trade disposal are agreed with each customer individually and are governed by the written agreement between MBS and that customer. These public website terms do not override those agreements and apply only to your general use of this site.
All content on this website — including text, images, logos and the MBS brand — belongs to Motor Body Services (Salford) Limited or is used under licence. You may not copy, reproduce or redistribute site content without our written permission.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by UK law.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any single transaction is limited to the amount you paid us for that transaction. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or economic losses arising from your use of the site or from vehicles purchased via the auction.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of your use of this site or a transaction with us will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
